Darcy

Looking for a little unpredictible adventure? Looking for your classic pick-me-up Cup of Joe? Well, so is Darcy!

This project was a work of love for one of my last (and one of my favorite) classes at Michigan State University. The goal was to create a script or outline for a homemade hero. To say the least, I may have gone overboard in adding a pitch bible, but I believe in always giving more than what's expected. I wanted to create an offbeat story about an armadillo with one goal in mind: to do the unexpected. To be brave. To prove she can do whatever she wants. People may only see her as an armadillo, but she knows she is an explorer with a knack of getting the job done.

It Had Nothing to do with Bea

Here lies the first-ever storyboard and pitch bible I made for my first-ever animation class. I wanted to include it in my portfolio to demonstrate the vibrancy in storytelling and design I've always had, and how far I've come in layout design, typography, and sketching.

"It Had Nothing to do with Bea" follows a two-story parallel format between the city's day and Bea's day. Everyone on this Earth has a power except Bea. No one knows why, but what we do know is that Mundane City would be a hub of catastrophe and devastation if it wasn't for Bea's timeliness and on-her-toes thinking! She makes it look like she isn't even trying!... Is she trying?

Growing Pains

The goal for this storyboard was to create a scene for the middle of an episode. When looking through this, keep in mind the audience does not know what took place before this scene and what happens after. Why is there a brief pause between their hostile argument and an awkward glance away? That is up to your imagination!

Happy Birthday

"Happy Birthday" is a short-film created by 5 individuals, including myself, for a film class at Michigan State University. Under constant professor and audience feedback, our group was able to produce a short film based off an initial storyboard and concept. This is that storyboard.

Transitioning to college can be tough. Pulling inspiration from my own freshman year experience, I knew one person on the day of my birthday. On the days leading up, I kept denying that it wasn't a big deal that I wasn't doing anything. But, on the day of my actual birthday, I realized I like the consistency of doing something special on my birthday. No matter how small it may be, you deserve to celebrate yourself and how far you've come. "Happy Birthday" is a coming-of-age story on those first few steps of gaining independence and taking control of your life.
